I am working on starting a business. It is going to be a web based
advertising company with an emphasis on video production and sales. I
am really excited. I have some great ideas, so now i just need to
figure out how to bring them to life.I already have my federal tax ID
number and I just need to go down to the county and city office to
register my fictitious name and to get the basic business operation
license. I am also working on typing up and organizing my business
plan.
It is really an interesting process and i am learning a
lot about what it takes to create a start up. I just wish I had more
computer experience. I think right now that is my biggest fear; just
that I know I have a great idea but i don't know how to d make it work.
So if anyone out there has a lot of experience with web design or
marketing and such let me know.
So I am trying to figure out what would be the best form of exercise to reach my goal. Actually I am pretty sure I know what i need to do I just have to do it. I want to get lean but muscular. I have come to the realization that I am not going to reach that goal in the gym only. So i think I am going to come up with a schedule that puts me in the gym 2-3 days a week and the rest of the time is spent out either running or swimming. I really want to get into shape to do triathlons, so now i just have to do it. Luckily my gf Tess is training for a half marathon for team in training so I have access to a great running buddy :). I started dieting (eating relatively healthy but still good quantities of food) and I am already noticing a difference in my energy level and appearance. I am excited to see where i end up by the end of the summer. I am already starting to get to small for my clothes im going to have to go shopping soon or ill be walking around in what appears to be hand me downs. we all know that isnt good :). Plus why not help out our economy by spending a little more...
Wow...i just had one of the best weekends I have had in a long time. I
was talking with my girl tess and we decided it would be a great idea
to go to santa cruz for the weekend. She hadnt been there for 7 years
and i hadnt been there for a few months so we decided it would be a
great way to spend the weekend. She decided to drive since her ford
focus got much better mileage then my car. It was just her, her dog
oscar and I and we were going to stay at my friend nicoles farm.
I went to school in santa cruz and some of my friends stuck around.
Nicole was my next door neighbor in the dorms and i ended up living
with her and my friend aaron my junior year in a house. Anyways, Nicole
lives on this 100 acre hippie farm/commune place. There are about 10-14
people who live there at any given time and they all grow, eat and sell
their own food. They have chickens, vegetables, goats, and every once
in a while they kill a cow. Most of them live in urtes...which are
round tents that they built on platforms and a coupoe live in tents,
while the rest live in the main house on the property.
Tess
and I got down there friday night and made some food. we then hung out
with nicole and everyone and ended up sleeping on a wooden deck
alongside a koi pond. The next day we got up around 7 something and had
a delicious breakfast of potatoes, fresh eggs, oyster mushrooms, and
toast with avacado. We then went into santa cruz for the day and walked
around on the beach, did a little swimming and explored the downtown
area.
While we were downtown we had the craziest weather...it
was like 80 degrees out and then out of nowhere it started raining with
lightening and thunder. apparently there were a few fires in the areas
started by the lightening.
When tess and I got back to the farm we
set up our tent in a field because we figured it would be more
comfortable to sleep on grass then wood...(go figure) and then started
to help make dinner and consume the large amounts of alcohol that were
present for the solstice party that they were having that night. I
ended up buying a 24 pack of long board ale from costco and that
dissapeard in a number of hours. We ended up eating later then we
expected and tess and I were very tired. We had been snacking all
afternoon so by the time dinner rolled along we were pretty full
anyways, but we managed to inhale some delicious hamburgers that we had
been helping to prepare all afternoon from an old family cow named
betsy...i think that was her name. we had to use a buzz saw to cut the
meat up before we ground it because it had been previously frozen. The
dogs were going crazy over the meat you should have seen them. Oscar
tess's dog ended up finding a good place to stand under the grinder and
managed to get blood all over his face...yum :). all in all it was a
great weekend. I cant wait to see what this next weekend brings :)
AMA superbike weekend =AWESOME
Current mood:
blessed
yeah this weekend was a lot of fun...I went to the AMA Superbike races at infinion on saturday...then went home and studied for my EMT Skills Exam which i ACED. I only missed three points on one skill (trauma assessment) and got 100% on all the other 5. Last night I had my written exam for my EMT and was able to get a 93 out of 100 so i am pretty sure i will gte an A in the class. I went out to celebrate last night with some buddies (huey and chris edelen). Apparently Chris left at 5 this morning to go to his place of deployment before he goes over to Iraq as a marine 1st Lt. I wish him the best...be safe and come home.
thats all just random stuff...im looking forward to the A's vs Boston game on friday. It should be good. HaHa i hope it warms up again or tailgating will suck in the cold.
Yellow rose
Oh, yellow rose how do you lay, so sweet
Upon unsettled ground you lay before my feet.
You lay with life born by a single tear
You lay with love and all I hold dear,
And bending down, now I lay with none but you
In a field of grass born under a blanket of dew.
Picking you up I smell your sweet breath,
And pull you in till you lay upon my chest.
I deliver a kiss upon your silky skin
And rest my head against your lowered chin.
Now looking up to the stars above,
I wonder how it may seem, if not a dream,
That walking here, in a field, and endless sea
It came to be. That I saw you, and you saw me.
With a field so grand full of roses so sweet
It was you that I found stretched before my feet.
My view is but of a yellow rose, living in a golden hue,
And the stars watching from overhead struggle to reflect you.
Held fast set so in your ways refuse to let it be said,
That you stand over all who are red.
An opus, so perfect, you swim through the jade bay.
I take a quiet step back, and I sit to watch you flow with life’s breaths,
You lean and sway with all that has ever been said,
Life’s words of wisdom which flow from each heart tipped head.
And now sitting here, I have heard all which they have said,
So I lean back till I rest my head, down upon this emerald bed,
And I smile because my words which have taken flight,
Hover between me and your warming light.
With a sigh, I strain to say what must be said,
“I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT RED.”

Green fields
As I look into a field of green,
The grass dances with a bright young sheen,
The blades tickle their neighbors with innocent joy,
As they lovingly hug this visiting boy
As he smiles and looks into the emerald bays
Hazel trees tip and sway so free
They sing with the grass and dance with the wind
And watch the boy as he discovers beauty again.
My finger outstretched as it travels your cheek
Trembles with love and all that is weak
Through dark and light your fields shine true
Green fields of need known to so few
I have grown to know and believe all I see
Now all I see but your lips and your soul be,
All but your hearts uncertainty
Green fields do you quiver so with joy
As you lay before this admiring boy
If it be let your vast fields but blink,
And take me standing before you as this boy
I stand in but a field of green, surrounded by all I wish
Held back by all I know and all I see
Now I close my eyes and you are all that lay before me
You and your fields of green , and I but this poor lost boy
Who loves you, captured by your emerald sea, sighs.
For I need nothing else to bring me love and joy
So I return to my fields where I am safe.
And now for all the places I have been
And all the people I have known
Wish to call these green fields
My home.
i got urinated on ...:(
Current mood:
amused
Yes, it is true. It was not just anytype of urine at that, o no it was the highlighter yellow type which flows from between the cute little legs of black dwarf rabbits. Dare I go on? Well it all started with the simple sentence, dylan would you like to go to the animal shelter? actually i guess the problem begins with my answer to that question, which of course was yes. Once I was committed it was like my destiny had been laid down before me, the fact was I was going to take cute rabbit urine in the face, I just did not know it yet.
So I get back from work and upon arrival shannon asks me if I would like to go to kmart with her. I did not have anything in particular to do that day so I decided why not. On our way to Kmart the idea arose that we should go see the animal shelter. At the moment of the question the sun was just perfect and there was just a faint breath of cool breeze, the scene seemed just right for an adventure. So turning to her I said, "Ummmm ok." When we arived at the animal shelter there were more dogs then usual and there was an unsettling sourness to the air. At that point I knew that this was not just any trip to the animal shelter. Though my first inclinations to the smell was that, the air was thick with suspense I quickly realized it smelled to good the be suspense and therefore it must just be the endless supply of dog shit i was smelling. Sadly it was actually a little bit of both. plus some garlic smell that wafted in from the volunteer area where someone was cooking up a pizza that was in no way short on garlic.
After the dogs were visited it was time to go view the smaller animals, ie the cats , rabbits and other animals. Upon entering the area I made the rounds scoping out which animals I thought were the cutest and which ones were sweet but were not quite beauty queens. During my rounds I noticed a rabbit that was particularly cute. I guess shannon notcied the same one and upon finishing the rounds we slowly started to encircle this tiny little rabbit as a preditor does its prey. when we were standing right next to its cage with our faces so close we could almost enhale little hairs of his back, he made his move. Like a little black mikhail barishnakov he lept through the air and midflight sent a splash of higlighter yellow across the chest and face (well at least my face) of me and shannon as we stood there just looking at eachother dumbfounded. upon landing he turned and looked at us. we looked back and just broke into laughter...it is not everyday that you catch urine in the face from a cute little black rabbit. At least now I know to keep an eye open (but not too open) for it. I had no Idea rabbits could do that. they are defininately pretty damn cool. I cant really blame him, If i could leap and piss at the same time like he did, I probably would.
m rediculous
ok, so last night I went out with my cousin to a friends bday party. It was a whole lot of fun. met tons of cool people and drank and had a good all time.now for the funny parts. I literally had to ask some girl to save me because there was this little kind of hippiesh girl that was super drunk and trying to take me home with her. She asked me to make her a drink and being the nice guy that i am i complied. but when i bent over to get the stuff i neded to make it she started to chew on my earlobe and ask when we were to head home. I was like ehhhh you can go home whenever you want... then she went on to tell me that she had a babysitter for the night and that i should join her. So i had to have a girl that I knew from highschool (erika) who was also my cousins girlfriends friend take my arm and tell this lil hippy girl i was her bf. then the girl kind of just left after that...fewwwwww. Then after that around 130 we left the party. (my cousin tristan, his gf emily and her friend who I knew from hs erika) and went to tristans house for a hot tub. unfortunately i was the only one sober enough to drive and tristan lives way out in the boondocks. So I drove his car out there. He lives like 5 miles out in sebastopol off burnside and stuff. So anyways we get out there and hot tub and then its time to go to sleep. there were already 3 in the bed and i didnt want to sleep on it, but i also didnt want to sleep on the couch...so ne ways I ended up running from his house on the country roads at 2 in the morning all the way back to downtown seb-town back to my car. I was still able to get home (back to rincon valley) by three in the morning. Now that is what I call hardcore. it was a 3-5 mile run too....man it was gorgeous out last night. the time I left his house exactly 1:44 am....time of arrival at car 2:25 am thats not too bad considering i had on a full set of clothes and a jacket :) ok thats all for my funny story.
F it
The sun will shine...some will say
the sun will shine again some day
the clouds will fade and the air will warm
the rain will stop, and we’ll reach a norm
where all is hot and still and quiet
when we are all too tired to fight it
when all the worse has reached its peak
we will find what we now seek
peace will find you when chaos is desired
and your path will become clear when you choose one mired
when all you crave is agonal strife
you will discover happiness in life
You get what you dont want
and what you crave hides away
until you just give up and accept whatever comes your way.

Hide and Seek
I will run and hide...you see
and if you want to play,
you’ll find me,
and if you want to hideaway too,
I will find a hiding place for you.
But hiding is not always fun,
when you are always on the run.
At some point you must stop to look,
to seek, so you are not mistook.
Otherwise no one will want to play,
they know you will just run away.
To play the game hide and seek
you must be strong,
you cannot be meek,
but at what point do you give in,
and say you found me... I guess you win...
